Record Store Day Releases!

Believe it or not, the countdown to the right is accurate. We're only three weeks from Record Store Day. As such, we've started to get a lot of questions about the exclusive releases. A full list can be found here. We'll be getting the overwhelming majority of the titles on that list, so, carve out some time to browse and get excited! We certainly are.

New Releases 3/26/13

We here at Decatur CD were so thrilled that Lil' Wayne made it out of the hospital in time for the release of his latest album, I Am Not a Human Being II, that we put in a request for an interview with the New Orleans-born rapper. As Weezy is a busy man, all he had time for was one brief quote, "I'm just so excited to share a release date with Kvelertak and the Milk Carton Kids. I've always been a big fan of Kvelertak's unique brand of Norwegian black metal, while the Milk Carton Kids provide a fresh, melodic take on indie folk." Thanks, Weezy, couldn't have said it better ourselves! Even if you don't share Lil' Wayne's eclectic tastes, there's sure to be something here for you:

The Strokes
Lil' Wayne
Dido
Wavves
Joe Bonamassa
Milk Carton Kids
Kvelertak
Stephen Stills (box set)

We work for Jack White.

As you know if you frequent this here blog, Record Store Day is coming up fast. On April 20th (40 days and counting!), we will have all sorts of crazy stuff for you to peruse, discuss, purchase and play. We'll get you a more specific list as the day grows nearer, but in the meantime, enjoy a few words from Record Store Day Ambassador, Jack White:

"We know better. We should at least. We need to re-educate ourselves about human interaction and the difference between downloading a track on a computer and talking to other people in person and getting turned onto music that you can hold in your hands and share with others—the size, shape, smell, texture and sound of a vinyl record."
