Lazyeye album release at DCD this Saturday
Guess what, folks? It's in-store performance time again at Decatur CD. This Saturday, starting at around 8pm, we'll have the musical stylings of local rockers Lazyeye here in the building. Not only will the band set up for an acoustic performance, but the event will actually serve as Lazyeye's CD release party for their new acoustic album, Lights in the Attic. And yes, in case that title brings a certain venue to mind, the majority of the album was recorded right down the street from DCD at Eddie's Attic.
Lazyeye has performed live as Ludacris' backing band for a song on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and also in front of a crowd of 7,000 people at the Georgia Tech Coliseum. Pretty big time, eh? Have a listen to some songs on their MySpace page to get an idea of what they're like, particularly "Nuclear Winter," which is a good idea of the kind of material they'll be playing during the in-store.
As we like to do with these sorts of things, refreshments will be provided. The generous Deborah, who is actually the mother of one of the band members, is providing a pony keg of Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA. If you haven't had a Dogfish 60, well, you probably haven't been to a DCD in-store performance in the past, as its a favorite of ours. It's a delicious brew, and goes particularly well with live music.
Again, the guys are coming on right around 8pm this Saturday (March 29th), and we hope to see you then. It's going to be fun!
Update: Deborah just e-mailed us the cover graphic for Lights in the Attic. Have a look:
