Caroline Herring and Jeffrey Foucault live @ Decatur CD this Saturday

This Saturday (Nov. 17th) at 1pm, we're proud to have the musical talents of Jeffrey Foucault (pictured above) and Caroline Herring (pictured below) here at Decatur CD for a free, all-ages in-store performance. We know more than a few of you are familiar with them, but if you're not, check our their MySpace pages for song samples (above) and read a little about them (below).

Caroline Herring comes to us via some sleepy, no-name town called Decatur, Ga. However, it wasn't always that way, as Herring has also called Oxford, Miss. and Austin, Texas home. The latter is where she really starting earning acclaim, the Austin-American-Statesmen naming her the Best New Artist in the famously music-centric city in 2001 and No Depression joining in on the buzz. Dar Williams calls her the real thing, and we're happy to have her in the store.

Jeffrey Foucault is from Wisconsin, and he brings along some heavy praise of his own. The New York Times calls Foucault "a young man with an old soul...contemporary and timeless." Meanwhile, the Washington Post praises Foucault, saying that his "baritone has been roughed up by the grit of creation, revealing layers of wisdom and wonder." Fans of Chris Smither, early Bruce Springsteen and Townes Van Zandt will love this guy.

Sounds like a good time, right? We'll see you Saturday afternoon, then. And while you're here, be sure to sign up to win tickets to the pair's show at Eddie's Attic that night.
