Our birthday celebration commences soon.
Decatur CD is turning three years old soon, and to celebrate, we're planning a little fun. Kicking off the birthday weekend will be a performance by one of our favorite local bands, The Selmanaires. They'll play the store at 7pm on Friday night, in all their rock 'n' roll glory. We'll have free beer for the adults and probably another surprise or two up our collective sleeve, so don't miss out on this event. And if for some reason you haven't heard the band's excellent debut album, Here Come The Selmanaires, by all means, stop by before Friday and we'll play it for you. Then you'll realize we're so excited about this in-store performance. See you Friday!

A birthday party and I can't make it? I'm so bummed.
Wanted to let you know that Addie, Lauren, and I went to see Hot Chip and Jamie Lidell at 1st Avenue in Minneapolis this past weekend for Addie's birthday. Hot Chip was outstanding, and in my opinion stole the show. They just had so much energy.
But don't get me wrong, Jamie Lidell was great too. I've never seen a 30-something white guy with so much soul. It was impressive to see him beatbox, record it, loop it, sing the back-up vocals, record it, loop it, and then sing on top of all of it.
Here are some pictures from the show.
So in other words, I'll be picking up a Hot Chip album next time I'm in Atlanta.
Matt,
That sounds amazing. So jealous that you've seen Hot Chip. That new record is the hotness. Will see Jamie Lidell soon at The Earl, though.
m.ng,
Indeed. See you Friday.
Addie,
Give us a call. We have multiple copies of the new Hot Chip record. And it's le hotness.
